Yesterday I dropped another COP on the way back home from work. I called the guy at the parts store and got a price. We got on the topic of coil failures and asked me about mine. I said this is the 2nd one on the truck (96k) and the first was a few months ago. He was a bit shocked. He said his started going out at about 75k and they seemed to die within weeks of each other, so he replaced the rest of them at one time.
He then said around the same time he has been blowing plugs out of the heads and has become very good at installing helicoils.
How far off is this guy? Do I have to worry about these heads on a 2001 5.4 f250 with 96k?

My truck spit its first spark plug out at 75K (01 F150 4x4 5.4) The only COP I have replaced was at 100K. I have 154K on it now.

Did you repair the plug hole yourself or did you have it done, and at what cost?
