89 probe LX

hi, a few questions, first, my rad fan stays on permanently(just bought this car)and still overheats when idling for a while, second there is also a fan on the other opposite side of the rad???whats that, it runs constantly also, my bottom rad hose is always cold, upper is only warm after overheating,,,, next, my digital dash shuts off completely every now and then, when i bought the car it worked, got it home, let it sit all night, wouldnt turn on the next day,then i played around the fuse box under dash and oddly came on,, fluke prolly...the fan turns on even when i have the key on acc.before starting...any help would be great, thank you

I just recently bought a probe and I also noticed the fan comes on when turning the key to accessory. Is this just a test such as warning lights on the dash???

geessss, ok sounds like someone hooked the fans to run all the time , probaly cause its over heating , I would check the thermostat sounds like it stuck closed , may be your over heating problem, as the fans , one is for normal engine operation , the other should come on as soon as you turn the AC on .
