Hey guys. My 91 5.0L keeps stalling when I slow down for a stop. The check engine light is on most of the time, but not always. It seems like it might be a vacuum problem, but I really don't know. Maybe the EGR valve? Any pointers would help me out bigtime.

I addition to owning several ford trucks my family and I also have several 5.0L Mustangs. I had the same exact problem with my 89 5.0L Mustang. On the side of the throttle body should be a Idle Air Bypass (IAB) solenoid connected with a set of wires. I just took it off, cleaned out the carbon with some carb cleaner, then put it back on. Solved my problem. However I recommend getting a new gasket. Good luck!

The Check Engine light is usually emissions-related, such as a sensor. You could save yourself a lot of time and money by taking your car to AutoZone and have them check the ECU codes for free.
