am having trouble with my truck when i first bought my truck it didnt have a tachometer in the dash i thought ok i'll go buy one the only problem is i dont know where to hook it up to i've tried everything that i can think of and it just dosent want to work is there anyone out there that can help me or knows somewhere where i can look for one.

Usually a tach has instructions. The red wire is for backlight, the black is ground, and the green one hooks to one of the wires on your coil-pack but not sure which coilpack wire it is.

If your adding an aftermarket standard tach to a distributorless ignition system, a tach adapter is needed.. There are vendors like Autometer, MSD and others available.. They generally run about 70.00 but can be listed/found on ebay ect. sometimes for a bit of a discount...

^ He's right! If that is a COP setup, then you will need the tach adapter. Forgot about that.
