when the wife turns on the a/c it blows hot air! made sure the a/c button is on, you can hear and feel the fan blowing but no cold air. checked all the fuses related to a/c. the a/c compressor clutch is not kicking in when she turns on the a/c. The last thing they did at the dealer ship was change the serpentine belt because it made a real bad squealing noise when you turned it on or off (bad tensioner). checked to make sure the compressor was connected.
thanx for any help!

My brother's Miata did that because the coolant level was too low. We went to walmart and got some coolant with the oil lube stuff in it. We charged the system and it was still too low. We got some more with the oil lube stuff again and it messed up the system because there was too much oil. We had to go to a dealer and get the system decharged and we filled it up with the regular stuff and it is now working great. Case-in-point: don't use too much of the oil stuff.

update: flyer came in the mail for free a/c system check from the dealership i bouht the car from! took it in and they could not find a leak (neither could I ) they said that all a/c systems leak around the seals and bearings and stuff they said that ALL systems leak refrigerant the maximum acceptable level of a leak was 0.4 lbs (4/10 of a pound) per year. they put a dye in it to detect further serious leaks and it only cost me $30 for the refrigerant recharging of the system

Did you ever notice that when a dealership can't find the problem then the malfunction always seems to be "normal?" I wish I could get away with that at work.
