Can't find EGR valve

I have a 92' Ford Ranger with 2.9 V6. Would my truck pass emissions inspection if the EGR valve was faulty?

Does my make/model have an EGR valve? I looked at a picture of it in my Chilton's manual, but I can't find it in the engine compartment.
