I have a 1966 T-bird. The engine and transmission have been rebuilt, and now the engine seems to be missing or hesitating during acceleration. I am trying to figure out the most common cause to look at as a starting point. The repair manual says: Spark plugs, distributor, coil, carberator, ignition system, fuel filter and a few other things as possible causes. Can anyone steer me in a good direction to begin? I would appreciate any help in this matter.
Thanks
Brian

A tune-up can't hurt and may fix problem. Suspect cap or wires, but would change points too.

Unplug your MAF and start the car......................does it run better? My 93' Vicki had an MAF problem did much the same as you describe. Get an MAF if that works.
