I was looking for some help/advice on installing a electric brake controller on on 03 expedition. I have a brake controller to use that I had installed in a conversion van. In the manual is says "an electrical connector is provided under the intrument panel for installing a customer supplied electric brake controller" is also states that " a kit containing a wiring harness/adapter and installation instrucions to attach an electric brake controller may be obtained from a Ford dealer (part number 5A416). What does that mean? Where is the elelctrical conector provided under the instument panel located? what needs to be taken off and where do you find it and can I wire into it there without the adapter part number 5A416? or do you need that adapter to get the job done or make it a lot easier? is there an aftermarket adapter available or do you need the ford part? post here or email me at

the 03 does have both the 7wire round and 4 flat connector allready wired in the back
