How do you replace window motor?

anyone have any information of how to replace a window motor for a 1994 Ford Explorer XLT? Sometimes my windows come down and sometimes they don't. they seem to be off track, as well.

since no one responded i am- i did a search on both ford forums looks like u have to drill out the pop rivets. good luck

I recently did this repair on a Town Car.   Once you get the door panel off you have to remove the rivets out to remove the motor.  The instructions tell you to drill out the rivets.  You can't do this because there is a pin in the center of the rivet head that keeps the drill bit from going into the hole in the center of the rivet.  I used a die grinder with a cutoff wheel.  Wow! That's the ticket.

You CAN knock out the center pin, then drill the rivet.................

Well, guys, you dont have to drill the rivets out.  That removes the regulator with the motor attached to it, but if you look at the door sheet metal, most of the Explorers you can get to two of the three bolts through access holes and the third one, you drill a 1/2 in hole at a locator dimple and remove the third bolt.  Just some info from an old hand.
