Mileages are going to vary some..  4x4 or 4x2 models, STD cab, Crew Cab, short/long bed ect... The other deciding factors are 'drivings habits' and loads hauled/carried as number one, as well as altitudes, terrain/grades, city/highway and/or a combination of.... The 7.3 in most cases in light trim will see high teens, to 20+..

 225 HP, 425 lbs/ft torque

The 6.0 was introduced in 03.. Both the 7.3 and 6.0 were available for MY 03.. The 7.3 available for early build trucks...

get the 7.3.....I've had two 7.3's (2001 &2003).  I got about 16 or so with my crew cab and 295/75/16  tires depending on my driving (I jumped on it all the time lol)  and then after i put the SuperChip programmer on it, i was getting between 20-23 mpg depending if i was driving 55 or 75.  I would definitly recomend getting the programmer with the 3 stage.  Thing was unbeleivable.

Unfortunatly im back to a 99 v-10 crew cab(was supposed to be a temporary vehicle) but i love not having a $700 truck payment so im gonna stick with this for another 5 years or so.  Save up the cash and pay for it or have a small truck payment.
