I have a 02 f250 7.3L diesel 4X4... I was driving and the SES light came on and I had no accelerator/throttle response. Once the SES goes out I do.... However the light stays on all the time now. Does anyone have a idea of what it might be? I hooked my scanner up to it but I did not receive any codes.....

Could be your accel pedal sensors, low fuel pressure, or even a PCM problem. Need to get it scanned to find out what code is being flagged. Some of the cheaper scanners will not show codes on the 7.3L diesel because some codes are stored in the IDM rather than the PCM.

Do you recommend a good scanner? I have looked at several online but none of them specify whether they would work. I heard that the diesel takes a different one.
