I am not a NOS expert or any thing, but I got to wondering and thought maybe someone could answer this- the purpose of NOS is to carry more oxegen to the engine to combine with more fuel right? so why does this require the nirogen in the nirogen oxide? why not run just straight oxide (medical grade oxegen) instead of nitrous? you would have to recalibrate the nitrous setup of course. if it worked it would have the added beneifit of less polution due to the fact that you are not burning nitrogen compounds.

I think the reason for the nirogen oxide vise oxigen is that the nirogen helps keep things cooled down and combustion chamber pressure up. There is more nirogen in air then oxigen, so N2O has something like 36% oxigen in it which is more oxigen. If you run the engine lean with NOS you could burn it up.

i know this is an old thread but this will not work you will burn down your engine. think about it what does an oxyacetlyene torch do to metal? melts and burns it you dont want that to happen to your engine.
