OD Drum Sensor delete?

Can anyone confirm that I can delete the OD drum sensor on my transmission when I replace it. TSB 97-20-19 indicaates that this is acceptable but I'd like to confirm that the TSB is actually a Ford bulletin and that deleting the sensor is OK.
