i had a system check done on my 1998 ford contour and it came up with a code # P 1383 trying to find out what it means
94 4x4 ranger

P1383 Variable Cam Timing Advance Excessive .
If it runs rough i would say the timing belt has jumped a tooth.
If it run's ok it may be a bad sensor.
