My truck has been pinging a bit, more than I would like. I have replaced 2 of the O2 sensors before the cat, new plugs and wires. The check engine light was on which is why the sensors and plugs/wires were replaced. Would the EGR Valve cause this or could it be something else?

Thanks, Kerwin

If the check engine light is on, then you need to get a scan and post the codes here for help.

I pulled codes P0171 and P0174, I had these before as well and thought I had the problem resolved but they are back again. I replaced 2 of the O2 sensors before the cat a couple of months ago and within the last few weeks put in new plugs and wires.

Vacuum leaks and EGR could cause codes P0171/174.. Both banks lean.. The MAF sensor uses a heated wire that cools with air moving over it through the sensor/inlet.. Sometimes debris sticks/coats the MAF wire and will insulate it and throw off the imput/return to the PCM.. As a first step,, remove the MAF sensor and use some Throttle Body Cleaner (not carb cleaner) with the spray tube, and gently spray the wire to clean it.. You 'may' even be able to see a collection on the wire if this is the cause.. Nothing more than a spray clean.. Clear the codes and see if they repeat after the drive cycles/monitors have complete...

Sounds like you got bad gas(low octane)
