I've got a '64 Falcon 2 door hardtop with the 260 V-8. I recently developed a pinhole leak just under the outlet to the overflow tank. I was thinking of just soldering it under high heat, since it was so small. When I went to take off the hose to the overflow tank the entire metal spigot the hose was connecting to broke off. Now I have a 1/2 inch hole in the neck of my radiator. Is this something that can be successfully welded, or do I need to get a whole new radiator? I am including a photo in case my description was inadequate.

You should take the radiator to a radiator repair shop. they may be able to braze the pieces back together. Is this the oem radiator? You could also go to the bone yard and get a radiator that is about the same size with the inlet and outlets in about the same area and just replace it.

if it was me i would get me a propane torch some rosin core solder some good cleaning flux all of which u can get at local hardware and fix it myself

Well, I took the radiator off today and it was in much worse shape than I originally thought. I think I am going to get an aftermarket radiator to replace it. My question now is, what kind? The Falcon used to have trouble overheating until my dad replaced the original three row radiator with this one, a four row. Four rows for this car are hard to find. Would I be better off replacing it with an aluminum radiator?
