I joined this forum because I need help.
I know next to nothing about vehicles, and I have a problem.
For the past couple of weeks, my ABS light would come on sporadically. But now I have a larger issue.
On my drive home from my dad's house the other night, my speedometer went crazy below 65 mph...now it doesn't work at all below 65 mph. My ABS light is on at all times now and my O/D Off light flashes every now and then. My cruise control also acted funny on my drive home. Haven't tried it since.
Plus the overall feel of the truck just seems off. The ride is not as smooth as I'm used to.
I drive a 1999 Ford Ranger.
From what I've read, it sounds like I have a bad speed sensor. I would like to know if that seems right and what I need to do to get that fixed.
Any advice would be much appreciated.

Sounds like the rear speed sensor. Not to hard to change, just one bolt, unplug the wire connector and it pulls out. It's on the top of the rear diff.

i had the same problem. i found it was the rear abs speed sensor located on top the rear axle. its an easy fix and costs about 20 bucks. hopes this helps
