Hi, I'm the one and only, the original ROUNDMAN! I'm a retired maintenance engineer and I'm older than dirt and I live and drag race in central Virginia.
My race car is a 1988 Mustang GT that I bought new many years ago and I tow it to the strip with my 1997 F150 pickemup truck.
I hate Camaros, all years, all models, don't matter to me and I love it when I get the chance to smoke one at the strip! Anybody can build and race a damn Camaro, it takes a certain amount of skill Camaro owners aren't capable of to build and race a Mustang!
I love and grew up on 50's and 60's rock and roll and hate the new music and ghetto blasters with overdone stereos that shake the windows in my house when they drive up the street. Just wish one time I could get my hands on a rocket propelled grenade and I'd show em what I really think about their damn rap music!
I know a fair amount about cars and mechanical things, so don't try and BS me or I'll be on your case like stink on doo doo!
And don't be showing your ignorance using bad grammar and misspellings and abbreviations I don't understand in your posts either!
Other than that, I'm a really nice guy once you get to know me!

hey, my name is beth, im 17 an' live in KY. i have a '89 tempo gl that was given to me. Any ideas on how i can spruce this thing up, i mean, it needs something! its red, but im painting it black. mileage is 15k... obviously rolled. do u guys know of any kinda body work i can have done to this thing that would make it look presentable at least?

sounds like you need a Maaco paint job! you could try doing some body prep before you take it in for paint like thoroughly washing it and then wet sanding it with some really fine wet sanding paper to remove all the old oxidation on the existing paint and this will help prep the surface for the new black paint your talking about. you might also consider stripping the paint completely down to bare metal, but this is not a home type job for a 17 year old unless you really are careful. another possibility is to check with the local vocational schools to see if they offer any body shop work as part of their training for the students, maybe they could look it over and give you some ideas on what it needs.

Thanks for the adivice roundman! Besides the paint, I plan on doin' other stuff to my car as the cash rolls in. I think some nice rims would complete the look - but i dont want a 18" chrome 'fake plastic look'... i think 15's or 16's, gunmetal, would look nice, 'specially with the black paint job. any ideas?

some nice pin stripes to accent the black paint might be a nice addition especially if you go with a monochrome paint job in all black. black is a hard paint job to make look good, but done well, they are really nice to look at. I prefer dark shades of blue myself, but to each his own! just add some color accents like some fine pinstripes to break up the monotony of the all black color and it will look great.

Hello!
My name is Tim. I am from Nebraska and I have several Fords but my 94 Flareside is my pride and joy. Her name is Ruby. The Truck is a Mark III conversion with the all leather interior, with mahogany wood door and dash accents, a mahogany overhead console, and a mahogany floor console between the bucket seats. The overhead console has vanity lighting and the controls for the lights, the radar detector, and the power sliding back window. She has 136,000 miles at the time of this post and has only need minor repair work with the exception of a new transmission. Currently Ruby is all stock but I have a 1972 302 that is getting a 347 stroker kit, mild turbo setup, and a ZEX system being built at a small shop in Plainview. It will be installed in my 88' F150 4X4 for a 10,000 mile break in. Ruby goes into the body shop in July for repairs due to a hail storm we had here in Norfolk. I am also having all door dings and scratches removed and a new coat of base clear with an ample amount of metallic flake applied. When she leaves the body shop she takes a trip south to have the plastic bed liner removed and a custom cherry wood bed is being built and installed by J.C. Enterprises located near Geneva Nebraska. The truck sits on Uniroyal Tiger PAW 60's on Progressive Deep Dish Alloy rims. The truck currently sports an Alpine AM/FM/CD player with 4 Alpine co-axial speakers in the stock locations, and a subwoofer with 2 10 inch competition drivers and a 200Watt mono Alpine Amp. I own my own computer service business so I am currently collecting the necessary components to build and all PC based audio/video system with GPS navigation and wireless web access. The goal is to have a street drivable truck that is still reliable and doesn’t look like every other farm pickup in the area.

I would love to post pics of it if you can tell me where and how.

I my name is Carl, since someone else here said they were older than dirt, I can't use that one..OK, I am almost as old as dirt. That is if 62 is old? I am retired from the U.S. Navy. I subscribe to a mag called Cars & Parts because I like the older cars. I am currently attempting to restore a 1966 VW Bug. Drive a 1995 F150, nothing special but it gets me where I want to go. Also have a 1983 Chevy Monte Carlo that is to be my next project. Heard about the forum from a friend of mine. Did I mention that I am 62 going on 20? Later, Carl.

I guess we can both be older than dirt since we are most likely the two oldest ones on this forum. LOL
Good luck on the VW restoration, they're fun little cars to mess around with.

Roundman, it looks like we have something in common..We are both old but think young. My son once mentioned that he wished I would grow up. Can't afford to waste the time doing that. Later Carl.

I live in Chesterfield County just south of Richmond and race my Mustang at Virginia Motorsports Park down in Dinwiddie, VA south of Petersburg, VA. My youngest brother who's 49 now did a hitch in the Navy back in the late 70's early 80's, served on the CVN 69, USS Eisenhower for almost 4 years. He was older than most of the recruits he served with too. He can tell some damn funny stories about his service which I'm sure you can too.
