Default Phone mute connection

From what I can find, the radio in the 07 Freestyle is the same as in the F150 and the Mustang.

I'm looking for some info on connecting my Motorola HF850 bluetooth handsfree kit to my factory radio in an 07 Freestyle SEL. I don't want to use the factory speakers for cell phone audio, I just want the radio to mute while I'm on a call. This motorola unit has a single wire that went to my aftermarket radio in my previous vehicle, and the radio would mute anytime a call was active. Does the Ford oem radio accept this type of input? I've attached what I think is the pin diagram.

Thanks

Default RE: Phone mute connection

From your wiring diagram, it looks as though Pin 7 of J1 is your best bet. My Freestar has a mute button on the radio and on the steering wheel... If you've got these buttons, you should be able to push the mute button and see a voltage change on Pin 7 of J1.

I'm not familiar with the Motorola Bluetooth kit you're using, but if it has a "mute" output connection, this would tie to the Pin 7 on connector J1.
