2016 Explorer Limited
I bought a 2016 Explorer Limited in September 2015. I loved everything about it. In June of this year the check engine light would come on intermittently. It would be on for a couple of days and go off for a couple of days. I took it to the dealership and they could not determine an issue. A few weeks later when I was taking it back in to have the strut mounts replaced, the check engine light came on and any other issues arose. They determined that the head gasket needed to be replaced. 10 day wait for parts. When the head gasket arrived they decided they needed to replace a cylinder head. Another 10 wait for parts. Once the cylinder head was received they had to order tapits and again a 10 day wait for part. They dealership has given me a loaner vehicle so at least I haven't been without a vehicle. Having to replace a cylinder head in a vehicle that only has 22,000 kms on it worries me. I'm wondering if I should be trading it in while it's still on warranty. Thoughts?
