fuel leak

Cool fuel leak

my 1994 f150 has 2 gas tanks rear one leaked so i stopped using it front tank began to leak also,changed front tank now somehow fuel is getting to the rear tank and leaking when i park on a slight incline any ideas?

Ford had a recall on that problem. Can't remember if your truck was affected. They put an anti-return valve on the supply line of the fuel pump. Best bet is that the
front fuel pump front fuel pump
is bad. The switch valve just turns on one pump or the other. There is nothing between, unless the pump is faulty.

Maybe this will help,
Generally when drawing from one tank causes the return fuel to go to the other tank , the problem is with the tank that is overfilling and in this case as just about everyone here gathered The problem is with the overfilling tank fuel pump, Check valve !

thanks for all the info i never would have thought fuel pump when i changed the front tank i reused the old pump guess i should have just gone with a new one not looking forward to having to drop the tank again

I'm not sure which fuel pump you reused. Presently , if you are getting fuel placed back in the rear tank when using the truck on the front tank, that fuel pump in the rear tank is defective.
