Default Timing chain cover corrosion

My 88 5.0 developed a coolant leak between the block and water pump and looks to be coming out of the cover, anybody know if they can corrode enough to leak out of the coolant passage. If it was not for the serpentine belt alt bracket I could have seen where it was leaking while running so I will now have to wait for the motor to cool down to put the coolant back in so I can pressure test.

Default

It was a gasket failure and glad it did not leak into the motor, the po replaced the timing chain and water pump but did not tighten the bolts enough.
