Default 1970 Ford Torino King Cobra NASCAR Prototype

Don't know is this has been posted before but it is very cool.

from the article:
NASCAR fanatics should be jumping out of their seats as this rare piece of automotive history hits the market. The 1970 Ford Torino King Cobra prototype was designed as Ford’s answer to the successful Dodge Charger Daytona, and is the only of its kind to be fitted with a Boss 429 V8 motor.

Pretty sharp design.
Like the fold away headlamp version. Big car though. I had a 70 Mecury Cyclone back in 75, was a fun car.

But every car was heavy by then... Look what the idiots at for did to the Mustang!!!!
Ford always had the bad habit of taking something nice and making into
an Air Craft carrier.... 55 Bird, Mustang, Falcon, Not that the other manufactures
did not do the same thing. But this design was a full design car, you take the
Super bird and it just had 18" of wedge added to the front... And Ford still
could run and beat them on the track.
Out of the Ford\Mercury stable, I liked the 70\71 Torino and the Cyclone's.
also the 69\70 Mustang.. they all had the best balanced look. once you got into
the 70's there was not really anything with shouting about... IMHO
It is funny though that the Mustang II. (there goes Ford again) did sell like
crazy for a few years...

Thumbs up

Yeah in 1990, I had a 70 Mach 1, 351C, shaker, 4sd, posi, slats, rear deck spoiler.. Was a beautiful car. Blast to drive. 68, 69 SS 4sd. Camaro's prior to the Mustang.
I'd like to go back with a suitcase full of cash, or, be able to keep all the cool iron I sold to move forward.... 69 T/A,, had it since high school!
