63 Country Sedan Wagon - Crown Vic Swap - is it posible?
Ok I have a 63 Country Sedan Wagon that I would like to upgrade the suspension on. I don’t have thousands of dollars to buy all new parts.I have read a lot about people doing this conversion on an F100:
So has anyone done either of these swaps on a full size ford car?
Engine/Trans: I want to keep the original Engine and Transand plan on having them rebuilt within the next month.
I have an opportunity to buy a 2003 Crown Vic for a few hundred and am looking to know if I should buy it or not so here I am hoping I can get someone that has done this kind of swap before to respond.
Looking forward to working with you all.
Front End: Using a front suspension/rack and pinion from a2003 or newer Crown Vic gives the feel of a new car and is almost a bolt on process with a few modifications. I have heard guys using this to upgrade their F100.
Front Suspension looks like this:
Rear End: The same guys that use the front end from a Crown Vic also use the rear end from a 96 tbird. I just happen to have a 96 tbird that I can pull the pull the rear end out of.
I haven’t done much reach search on the rear end swap, but itsounds like it is as simple as the front and then you have disk brakes andmodern steering and suspension on all 4 tires. That sounds amazing. Rear End Suspension looks like this:

It is not the same.
The Trucks frames are straight, the Galaxy frame bends up for the
front control arms.
the only way would be to cut the frame between the fire wall
and the control are then weld new box frame from there forward.
Not really worth all the time, and cost.
You would probably be better going to an air ride, bigger front
sway bar, etc: Also upgrade to bigger discs brakes, dual master cylinder
proportioning valve.
