Default Rebuild for full size car

I have now been the owner of a 2 ton beats for 2 years now. But I'm looking to really get it moving now. It's a 4000 lb car nearly all stock with a 351w under the hood. Here's my question what'll be better stroking the 351w to a 408w or looking for a 428 fe? Or maybe even going 460! I want it to still have street manners since it'll be almost entirely a street beast. I'd like to get around 450 HP I feel that's reasonable. But I'm open to all suggestions and opinions!

Default what engine

a bit late on this one but.. Nither.
I'd go with a 460. 429\460 are same block. Think junk yard.
then a stroker kit $2000, and a good pair of heads.

Forgot I even posted, but thanks for replying. Why 429/460 over 408 stroker or forced induction? And what kind of low end torque could I expect out of a 429/460? I've never worked with big blocks before.

Default big block

Why? good question. I guess in today's world It's cost
I bought a 460 engine, $90, align bore, mag, $400, (which I have
not got around to yet, but numbers from local machine shop)
A kit (stroker) if you like, $1600, head work is $400 each or
aftermarket. $1400.
I'd say for under $4000 you have a 500hp +. and around that for
Torq.
But it is a Ford Big block, so bellhousing bolt pattern is big
compared to 351w or 351c...
You could go with the 460 and find a great set of 429 heads
CYLINDER HEAD INFO gathered by DJOHAGIN
then there is what car you sticking this into.. with the right parts
and money you can get 380HP out of a 351c.
I've never been a big lover of the 351w, I'm sure it is a great motor
just never had one.
