i have a 1986 ford bronco II and It starts and runs but when put into gear it starts to move but then stops, this is my first time dealing with the push button four wheel drive system but i think that the transfer case may be stuck in neutral. could someone help me.

It does sound like the T-case. Bronco 2 T- cases have this duel fork assembly inside them. If one or both forks is dammaged, it's going to fill like your in neutral along with some griding noices . I have an 87 that did that. 2-wheel, 4-wheel, it was all tuch and go ontil I cracked her open.Take it apart and look. I rebuilt mineon my kichen table. One of the forks was burnt all to hell and the inturnal fluid pump wasbroke.
