On page 2 I mentioned that the engine was running when it blew but didn't go far enough. Not 100% of that but pretty sure. Neither auto-zone or advanced had any 15 amp circuit breaker fuses.
The headlight switch, turn signal switch and multi-function switch was replaced by a mechanic. Any chance he wired it wrong? If it is a plug in probably not. The local neighborhood mechanic's opinion.

It would very difficult to take out the switch itself. There are 2 plugs down below but I can't get my hand in there to trace them to any plugs. There are 2 rectangular plugs at the bottom of the dash that have either 6 or 8 wires each in them.

I'm wondering that myself. I believe the switches were replaced in an attempt to solve the problem we are working on. Maybe I should double check that the signal switch was replaced but almost positive about that. Been wrong before though. The headlight switch is a round **** on the left side of the panel. The dimmer is on the turn signal lever on the steering column. That is probably why a local mechanic thought they wired it wrong. Not sure why. It feels like a clip on wire type thing attached to a box just behind the headlight switch.

Hanky,

They did replace the headlight switch (53-22341), and the turn signal switch. That probably had something to do with the cruise control not working right. That lever/switch is not available. The multi-function switch part number is 59092. Can't tell you anymore than that.

The part numbers came off the invoice.
Funny you should mention a junction box because my neighbor thought that might be the problem. He thought it would be on the steering column under the hood, but I didn't see one there.

I always had the headlights on when it blew so not sure about parking lights tripping it.

I could take a picture of the fuse box if you can tell me how to get it on here. I tried using snap fish but it didn't work.

I'll go outside and take a look anyhow.

Yes. I don't have any fuses to test the parking lights right now. The flasher is on the top right and the headlights are on the lower left.

I tired to blow a fuse without the engine running and it didn't do it.
With the engine running and parking lights or headlights on, the fuse blew.
With the red wire off the voltage reg, it still blew a fuse.
