Good Afternoon: I'm still working on my van. I'm in the Comfort Control area. I tested my fan unit and got a medium spped using orange wire and grounding the black one. I was surprised when it ran! I checked all fused before my meter leads failed, so not much more i can do right now. I located a black connector next to the instrument cluster and it is open... could that be where the hight speed fan relay goes? Any help here would be good!
Thank You.

Usually,
The power is supplied to the blower switch. The switch usually has low, med & hi positions. Power for all speeds except hi speed go through the blower motor resistor.
The hi position bypasses the resistor and goes to energize a hi speed relay which when energized supplies the hi current requirement for the blower to operate at hi speed.
The blower motor only has 2 wires . One is ground, the other depending on the speed selected at the blower switch provides the power for the blower motor to run.
I don't remember all the colors involved, but if you know what is supposed to happen you can easily trace the wires from the switch. The colors don't always match the diagrams especially if someone has been in there working on things.
I believe the blower hi speed relay is located between the battery and the radiator support . Ground wires are usually black, power wires can be black with yellow tracer. Look for the relay with the heavy orange wire on it that goes to the blower motor and that should be the hi speed relay.
