Just want to run something by you for verification.

Recently my stock Ford AM/FM CD/MP3/Aux radio started losing power intermittently. It comes on everytime I turn the key over, then loses power after 10-60 seconds. I checked the Delayed Accessory Relay and it does not look burnt. All fuses are intact. I even pulled the radio and checked the harness and all wires are properly connected and damage free.

While troubleshooting I noticed that after the radio lost power(which it loses memory each time), it would turn back on if I played with the Vol ****/Power button. This wasn't sure fire every time, but it does remind me of a faulty rheostat in the radio.

Can anyone verify that I could lose constant power and memory because a Vol/Power **** went bad?

Something you might try, connect your piece of test equip to the power wire coming TO the radio,that way you would confirm the problem is with the radio itself. Depending on what method is used to turn on the radio, if one **** turns it on and also is used to adjust the volume, yes, they have a dual pot (potentiometer)set up where the back of the pot is the on -off switch and the fwd portion is the volume adjustment.
If the memory is getting lost , I don't believe the pot can cause that. It sounds like the power is dropping out before the radio .
