ABS light is on. 99 E350 V10

I have a 99 E350 V10. The ABS light is on in the dash.
I used a code reader, no codes present.

What can I check?

Some code readers don't always show all the present or pending codes.
There is a good possibility one of the front wheel speed sensors is not working all the time. It might pay to check them all out and their connections too!!.
