Are you sure the low side is the bigger fitting? All the retrofit kits say the high side is the bigger fitting on the R12.

I am positive the smaller fitting is the hi side in an R12 system.

With R134A the smaller fitting is the low side.

Usually with a retrofit kit the fittings will only fit one way, look at the inside of the adapter to determine the size.

Usually the 2 lines coming off the A/C compressor will be a different size, the larger diameter line is the low side. If you follow that line from the compressor it should go to the evaporator outlet. Some aftermarket systems had the low side charge port somewhere in the line that comes into the evaporator from an accumulator(dryer).

You never answered my inquiry regarding the type set-up your vehicle has , can you provide that info?

The compressor is mounted horizontally. I found the port, it is on the compressor, but there is not enough room to screw a retrofit fitting on it. If the heat ever lets up, it's been over 100 every day, I will get a picture of it.

Only thing I can find on the bigger line side and this is on the compressor. If this is it, Ihave no idea how they charged it.

I have been over every inch of the A/C lines and cannot find the low port. My Haynes manual shows nothing on A/C.

I even found the sight glass. But it isn't near it.

The sight glass is almost always positioned on the high side, some are on the receiver/dryer and some are in the high side line.
