mounting rooftop RV-style AC unit on roof of E150 Chateau
Anyone mount one of those rv-style aerodynamic AC units on the roof? My E150 Chateau (just purchased) has rear AC and heat, with ductwork and vents running down the middle of the interior to the back of the van.
Im thinking of skipping the mounting of the AC unit faceplate on the inside and just tapping into this factory duct. Is this doable? Anyone ever done something similar? ANything I should watch out for? Ive also never messed with one of these RV units.
Purpose is to turn this van into a camper van, so need some AC while parked.

Is the RV A/C unit 12 volts? It should be easy enough if you can route the power and controls from the source. Otherwise, you might need to use an inverter to run a 120V unit which can be plugged into an ourside source, like when camping, so it would run at night.
I'm working on installing a power inverter and one of those A/C units on wheels that have a window vent hose for the heated air. We tried the inverter last winter but really didn't have an opportunity to use the air since it was only 23 degrees and windy.
