Default No Spark

95 E250 straight 6.

Just recently had problems with computer, changed out computer, ran fine, drove it a bit around to test, ran excellent.

Came back 2 days later, wont start. Found not getting spark. Tested ignition module. Have 12v at ignition module. Tested PIP at number 6 wire with led, led blinks while cranking, have 12v positive at coil but no negative signal at coil. Replaced ignition module, still no spark.

Tested coil by applying 12v quickly, getting spark ok. Read that even getting PIP, could have possible bad hall effect in distributor. Been told hard to replace, better to replace complete distributor.

Short of replacing hall or distributor, I'm out of ideas.

Question is, is there something I'm missing ? Could the Autozone computer be bad, is there a correlation from computer that stops ignition module from firing.

At this point distributor repair is next, but if anyone ever worked on a 95 E250, its a bummer to get to.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

when you put test light on the positive side of the coil; do you have power at all times with the key in run

put a test light on the negative side of the coil....and when the engine is cranking the test light will not flash

if this is the case, I agree with your first diagnosis. the grd side of the ignition circuit is still at fault. ohm check the wire from the module to the coil.
