Default operable rear windows

I would like to install operable rear windows in my 2001 E150. So far I have had no luck with junk yards, auto-glass companies, or my local dealer. Has anyone done this and if so where did you get the glass and hardware?

If you mean, the windows at the very rear of the van -- I got a pair from a junk yard in Portland OR -- but it may have been that I got lucky. They manufactured tilt out windows for Econoline vans from '91-'95 (or about then) so make sure you search with all those years. You will have to modify or discontinue using the plastic trim around the window -- but for my '97, it was no big deal. the door design has not been updated since 1991 -- so anyone you find should fit. Good luck !

OK natbr thanks for the info. So how do you like the difference with the vented glass? Any problems with exhaust fumes coming in?

None, our E350 is former 15-passenger rental agency van that now has a bench/flip-over bed in the back, optional second row seating, fridge. We use it for car camping and having the windows vent in the back is crucial to getting some airflow through the vehicle at night without having to leave a door open or window down. Love it. We don't ever drive with the the tip-outs open as that will allow exhaust to get sucked into the back where, typically, the kids are sitting. Except in driving horizontal rain, no water gets in if it rains overnight. Works great!
