Default starter brushes

Any trick to putting brushes in an '85 Econoline 351 starter?

This goes back a bit, but I believe they are soldered in. Consider having a starter alt shop rebuild it for you or maybe get a rebuilt replacement from a reputable supplier. A rebuilder will most likely replace the bendix drive and bushings also.

I replaced the bendix, The brushes go in with screws, just can't figure out the clips. Been many years since I rebuilt one. If it gets too complicated, I can buy one for $50. Just thought, since I have an extra, I would put brushes in it, the brushes were $6.

It has some clips that snap into the end with the brushes.
