Towing feedback on 15 Edge awd ecoboost
Looking to get a edge and would like feedback on towing with it
Looking to tow a 17ft boat.
Thinking of getting the ecoboost 2.0 as i wont be towing the boat too often.
Is it capable of towing a boat that size or would it be best to go with the v6 model
Thanks

what is the weight of the boat and trailer?
typically, awd vehicles are not the best choices for max towing. the ptu don't like it. they usually have a reduced towing capacity vs 2wd or part time 4wd units.
determine what the manufacturer trailer weight capacity is for the vehicle your are buying; equipped with your build options and find out if it is capable of towing whatever your boat and trailer weigh.

The base towing capacity for the 2.0 EB is 1500 lbs and 2000 for the V-6 engines. With the factory Class II trailer/Tow package, the MAX is 3500 for the 2.0 EB and V-6 engines. The use of a weight distribution hitch would net you an additional 500 lbs of tow capacity.
