Default 2006 door lock issue.

I have a 2006 Ford Escape With a problem with the remote entry. The remote will lock all the doors and will unlock all doors accept the drivers door. The door panel switch won't unlock the drivers door either. Any help out there?

Sometimes late is better than never.

It does sound from your description like the solenoid that controls the driver's door lock unit may have a bad connection or be defective,,,,,Or require some lubrication !
With the glass in the up position you may be able to give it a shot of penetrating oil , and if lubrication is all that is required it may start working for you.

Default 2006 door issue.

Looked through some papers I got from the previous owner. Seems the problem has been going on since January of this year. See took it to an Auto restoration center. They in turn sent it to a dealer. (Ford I assume). They diagnosed that it needs a new Smart Junction Box replaced. ($450.00)
Seems to me that it won't open the Drivers door and all the other doors work fine, that it has to be something wrong with the one door. ???

The better way to confirm the door solenoid problem is to remove the door interior panel and actually check at the solenoid itself. If it has power and ground coming to it and it doesn't work, it is defective. If not than further checking may be required.

Well went to the dealership today. Didn't get very good info. First they checked the door lock and wiring. It turned out to be in good shape. Then they tore into the dash? After about an hour or so, they came out and told me I need a new "Smart Junction Box" Just like the other dealer told the previous owner. Only this time it was $171.00 for the diagnostics. And
$720.00 for the Smart Box. Holy crap. Of course the part in on back order.
I just bought this car. and needs all this stuff. Makes me think I made a mistake buying it. Bummer.
By the way, Does anyone know where the Smart Junction Box is located at?
