2006 Ford Escape won't start
I have a 2006 Ford Escape. It was running good for a couple of months and then all of a sudden it died in traffic. I turned the key and the dashboard lit up like a Christmas tree, but it wouldn't crank over. I got it pushed to a nearby parking lot and tried several times to start it with no success.
So far I've cleaned up all the grounds, unhooked the battery for 2 days then hooked it back up. I did the 20 minute key on cycle. I managed to get it running for a minute, it idled really rough then died. I turned the key off then tried to crank it again but nothing happened, except for a bunch of lights flashing in the dash.
Can anyone give me some ideas as to what is going on? I don't want to be throwing parts into it as it is very costly.
Thank you

Hmm. sounds like it might be an alternator. Same thing happened to me. I would remove the alternator and have it tested at a local mechanics.
The same exact thing happened to me well I was driving on the freeway.
Was it abrupt? Did the car make a crazy noise before actually turning off?
