Default 2010 escape v 6 tune up !

Hello, I am having to do a tune up on my wife's 2010 V6 ford escape. I can not find a video on this engine. Could anyone tell me how difficult it will be. Ford wants over 400. dollars and I do not have it.

I have bought all the parts, but I am getting cold feet, could really use a pep talk. ( LOL ). I would love any advice that would help my fears. I have done tune ups in past, but this engine looks intimidating, because of all the parts and electronics. Thank you. Need to get to it in about a week from now!

I do not have a video on that yet. Now of course the front bank is easy but the rear just needs the upper intake off, it's not too bad. If you send me a email address where I can send you a pdf of the intake removal that would help out allot with your cold feet. If you are over 30k miles and I assume you are be sure to replace the intake gasket.

First off , I can not thank you enough for taking the time to help me! my email address is matlockpaul@hotmail.com. Where can I buy the intake gasket, and how much should it cost?. I tried a local part shop, they said I may have to go to the dealer,I live in Canada.

How do you take off the little black nut/bolts that attach the are intake to the top part of the grill? I am guessing it is a hex or allen key.I mean the part that scoops the air from the front into the air filter! Those little black bolts that attach to the upper grill.

I have wathced a video on an older model escape v6, but a lot is different on my 2010.

Yes get the gasket from the dealer they can have next day. You just pry up on the retainers for the air snorkel. I will see if we have a used v6 late model on the lot and I will do a quick video for you today easier to show you. I have sent the pdf you can edit out your email address from your post now.

  1. NOTE: Clean and inspect all sealing surfaces. Install new gaskets.
  2. Position the upper intake manifold and install the 7 bolts.
  • Tighten the bolts in 2 stages in the sequence shown.
    • Stage 1: Tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).
    • Stage 2: Tighten an additional 45 degrees.
