Default 2010Escape, sticking in park !

Hello, we drive a 2010 Escape, it is starting to stick in park and getting worse . how can I narrow down if it is brake light switch , or shifter solenoid ? Or something else? I do hear a clicking sound in steering column, if that helps?

It does shift sometimes, but can not tell when it will stick . Any feedback would be veery much appreciated.thank you.

I recently had the same issue. It was caused by the brake light switch not engaging causing the vehicle to not release the shifter. I took it to ford to fix it on hopes it was covered by powertrain warranty. it wasnt about 100.00 fix for a 10.00 part. Wtf
