Default Front wheel collision

Hi, I got hit with another vehicle on the front driver side wheel. I thought to be minor but my steering wheel got turned and vehicle is getting pulled to a side with lots of noise. Mechanic is telling it will cost around $2000 to 2500 and lf control arm, steering knuckle, bearing etc to be changed. Its a 2001escape and car itself not worthier more than 2k. Is it a better way to get out of it...I am residing at Anaheim, 92806. Thank you

Welcome to the site..

Hard to say without some hands and eyes available.

If it was hit hard enough, or the steering was impact forced against it's 'stop' it could have done structural damage as well as component issues. Might take it to a few shops for another or collected options. If it does need suspension parts you might be able to get/use dismantler supplied parts if the repair shops are willing to save some coin. If the steering is only slightly 'off' it may not be that bad. The noise?? Metallic, scraping, rubbing? Or more of a rumbling, groan, or ? Can you post a cell vid with sound?
