Default Replacing ABS Control Module - 2009 Escape

Good Afternoon,

The other day, my display started showing, "Check Brake System" in addition to the ABS and brake lights illuminating on my dash. After having a mechanic scan my vehicle, he said the ABS control module needs to be replaced.

I'm being quoted $763 for the part and a little over $200 for labor. I hate to dump $1,100 (with tax) on a 7 year old car. Any recommendations on whether a used or aftermarket part is OK to use? I'm having a little bit of a tough time finding used parts, but I think this *could* be what I'm looking for:

Appreciate any advice!

If you can post or message your VIN I would be happy to ensure that this part matches your vehicle. That part is a great deal and as long as it comes with a warranty and fits your vehicle then you are getting an awesome deal. Honestly the 763 that the mechanic quoted is a good deal as well, it is under Ford cost. A new one from us costs $1037.69 (#9L8Z2C346C: MODULATOR VALVE. Module.)

The VIN is 1FMCU03769KC58756

After looking at your link, I may have the wrong part. I'm looking for the ABS control module...I think it's this one on your site?

#9L8Z2C219F: Ford. CONTROL MODULE. Controller.

Thanks for the help!

Thank you for that information. I have confirmed that both part number 9L8Z2C346C and 9L8Z2C219F fit your vehicle so we just need to determine which part the vehicle actually needs. It looks like 9L8Z2C219F is part of the 9L8Z2C346C assembly. I would suggest running it by the mechanic for confirmation. The pricing that your mechanic gave is much more in line with part number 9L8Z2C219F so I would lean toward that part number. I would also suggest checking with LKQ to ensure that the 9L8Z2C219F is included in the used 9L8Z2C346C they are selling.
