Service engine light comes on / off
Ok, I have a 2013 Ford Escape SE. 99600kms
Drives absolutely perfectly since I got it 2 years ago.
...until this past month.
My wife works in another town 20kms away and goes 5 days a week.(Highway)
Start car, takes highway, arrives near her work and the "service engine light" comes on. She described it as a chugging/weak power kinda feeling. Turns the car off for a minute. Turns car on and like magic, problem gone! This happens everyday for weeks! Same exact symptoms. Worst thing is, we can't put the computer on to check the light codes because by the time she gets a chance to go to the garage, the light shuts off!!!
When I take it for a short drive to a store or anyplace near by, nothing ever happens.
Any clue?

At your convenience or your wife's, just take the vehicle to reveal any codes that may be stored in it's computer. Usually, any time the service engine light comes on , long enough, a code is stored in the computer's memory and the code(s) can provide some direction as to where the problem is originating. You can have the codes read at places like Autozone and some other auto supply places for no cost , usually.
You can always stop at your local shop that takes care of your vehicle's repairs/service if they have a code reader/scan tool or your local Ford dealer service dept. Would you let us know what codes they found ? Thanks.
