Transmission cooler
I have. 2010 escape V 6. 220,000 kilometres. I plan to tow a covered 5x8 u haul trailer for about 8-10 hours a day for three days. The load will be well below my limit of 3,500 vehicle rating. I have had people tell my I will over heat my tranny.
Do I need to install a after market cooler, or does the escape have a built in one that will be up for the. Job?
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

follow the trans cooler lines out of the rad to see if they go to any aux cooler or back to the trans
I made a cross country trip with a 4x8 uhaul trailer (1000bs less) pulled by a 93 ford Taurus that has a much lower towing capacity. I was probably over the cars tow capacity.
I think your ok. The main factor is heat causes fluid breakdown. the higher the temp the shorter the fluid life. Would an aux cooler help, definitely...can you get by for one trip if your within the factory spec's...yep. This is a load on the trans so drive the speed limit, no faster.
I changed by trans fluid on mine before I left and then again when I arrived. No trans problems afterwards.
the biggest stress on trip was driving through the Northern Ontario hills.
