Hello, I have a 1999 Ford Escort ZX2 COOL, 2.0 DOHC, Manual Transmission, Manual Locks, Manual Windows. It's a beater with a heater but good on fuel, My issue is (it's happened twice within a couple weeks) When I drive, the theft light blinks, (not real fast, maybe each second it'll blink once) and sometimes the theft light will stay on while driving. Well it normally goes back off, as for today this is the second time I opened my door and the "Alarm" went off. The first time this happened I had locked both doors using the key (the little ***** inside to lock the door were gone so I just used the key on both doors. The next morning I unlocked the door and as soon as I opened the door it screamed, I closed the door waited for the alarm to stop then opened the trunk to prepare with some tools. That set it off too..... So I sat in the car talking to the ford dealer, He told me to close the doors and when the alarm is off to start it (yes the car starts regardless of the theft light, no chip in the key) After that I was good for about 2 weeks until now, driving down the road, my theft light came on, I didn't think much of it. I parked at the gas station to get a drink, when I came out (Passenger door has been locked for a week or so, and drivers door was unlocked as I went in) I opened the door and the alarm said hello once again. This time I sat in the car, waited for it to stop, started the car (no alarm) but before I had moved I tried opening the door just to see.... yeah I drove home with the horn screaming and the lights flashing. According to ford, manual locks have no fob, I cannot find any button (under the dash my contour had one, and my 99 windstar still has a little button) I turn the key to run, hit the button by the obd2 port and it shuts off. I am at a loss, I cant figure this goofy thing out and I am trying my best to fully explain everything that has happened. I know it's a long post but maybe it's enough information for someone to help me. Thank you guys in advance.
