What to look for in buying a 2000 to 2004 Excursion
Hi all,
I'm considering getting a larger SUV than what I have. The Excursion seems to have what I'm looking for in terms of size and price range.
What are some things I need to look at before I buy? Mostly, the gas models, 10 cylinder, are what I'm seeing in my price range but I did find one diesel 7.3 in my range.
I will be towing some heavy items, so 10 cyl or diesel would be good.
Thanks!

Missed your post..
The V10 makes decent power, sound awesome too, but fuel mileage would be 'much' less than a 7.3.. If your planning towing heavy, and often, I'd look for a lower mileage 7.3. Id also go low mileage/newer if possible.. Very easy to add extra power to a 7.3,as well. A V10 probably wouldn't disappoint other than mileage, a bit cheaper to maintain over a diesel, so depending on the weights you'll pull, grades and distances, fuel numbers may be a factor. My 02.
