Ford Excursion So the size of the Expedition is not enough for you, then the massive Excursion is the way to go. With options including a powerful diesel engine, the Excursion is like a tractor trailer built for family use.

Default Should I purchase a 2003 Ford Excursion 6.0?

Let me first say, "I love Excursions!" I had a 2001 Excursion V10, sold it and purchased a Honda Pilot. That was a big mistake and I have a huge amount of seller's remorse. So, in this forum it seems like a no brainer to purchase the 6.0, right?

Well, not so simple. I'm a little worried about the 6.0 diesel. Should I be?

The Excursion has 56,000 original miles/original owner. For the most part, it's seemingly in amazing condition with the exception of rust. The tire wells and undercarriage is pretty rusty. The rust is starting to show on both front and rear passenger doors, at the bottom of the doors, under the weather stripping. The dealership has offered to scrap the rust and undercoat the frame. What is the forum's advice regarding this?

Any direction would appreciated.

We opted against that Excursion. We're still looking.
