I have a 2007 Ford Expedition EL with the 5.4L Triton engine. I started having power loss and misfire shaking about a month ago. Codes indicate cylinder 5 misfire and a random misfire once and a while (pending). About 8 weeks prior to indications I replaced all 8 plugs with E3's and also replaced the coil packs. In the last three weeks I have moved coil packs around internally along with swapping a few from another truck trying to get the problem to move, and last night replaced all 8 spark plugs with Motorcraft thinking the truck was picky. the indications remain #5 cylinder. I have had the fuel system cleaned, and also pulled the injectors myself and cleaned them in an ultrasound cleaner. I don't know what else there could be. I need help.

Any hesitation? The random misfire would seem to be other than ignition, or a combination of. Fuel pressure/volume spec? Injectors found their way into different bores after cleaning? What RPM range/s do the running changes occur?

Thank you for responding, I'm new at this. Hesitation occurs only while under a load, up hill or heavy throttle. I ensured the #5 injector returned to its slot but I don't know if the others got mixed up. I am going to swap #5 with #6 to see if maybe its a bad injector and if it follows then ill know. I will test drive it this afternoon and let you know the range it changes. The random misfire has always been a pending code.
