Hi friends.

What transmission is in this this vehicle?
Is it the 6r60 or the 5r55w?

Just bought the vehicle today...on my birthday.
129,000 miles.
It has the control trac. 4x4 auto,4x4 high and 4x4 low.

A couple of issues.
On the dash it keeps blinking on 4x4 high. Goes off for s bit then comes back. Can't seem to switch it into auto by putting in neutral...the 4x4 high keeps coming back.

Any ideas?

The other...big issue.
Reversed then went into drive and it wouldn't engage for a long amount of time.
Then on an incline...punched it to pull out into traffic and it hesitated then engaged, chirping the tire.
Thinking I bought a dud here.....on my birthday no less.

Guess I need to know where to start. OD seems to work fine.
Guess I would need to know my tranny # to get started on a diagnosis.

Anything you fantastic people can do to help....I would appreciate it immensely.
