I have an 04 Explorer with several problems. The ABS light stays on steady. I've read in a few different posts that my problem is probably due to the sensor in the rear diff. Is there any way to check if it is bad? I'm assuming you can check for resistance through the sensor, but what are the tolerances??? and what are the pins or wire colors for checking it?? Next is the 4x4 light...it comes on intermittently and flashes about 5x then goes out for a while and 'cycles' again. What could be causing that??? I used my OBD-III scan tool and I have no failure codes. Last but not least, whenever I have to brake hard to stop, the auto transmission takes a few seconds to engage and if the rpms are up, it bangs into gear and chirps the tires. I tried to check the fluid level, but Ford didn't put a dipstick on this model. Guess the dealers needed more work. I haven't been able to crawl under it yet to check for a plug on the side of the case (like a manual tranny has). Is that how you add/check the fluid in this tranny? Any help with any of these problems would be GREATLY appreciated.
